With all the hype (or bullshit) about “web3”, it’s good to see a counter movement as well. Whether this site is really “web0” or just pre-“Web 2++” (my term for websites overloaded with frameworks, JavaScript and CSS) remains to be debated…

some people say that the future is web3
but instead of always searching for something new…
what if we looked back for a second
to see if we lost something amazing along the way
what if we just removed the frameworks, JavaScript, and even the CSS from our websites
would we uncover something more valuable than anything new we could have created?

I still enjoy a site that’s pleasantly designed without being overburdening. As someone who tried surfing with JavaScript permanently disabled a few years back — can’t imagine now — it horribly broke the internet.
Colin Walker I agree that Web3 is overhyped (and probably unsustainabl… I agree that Web3 is overhyped (and probably unsustainable BS) but we don't need to go so far the other way. The over-minimal approach is a bit extreme and pointless in my opinion, very much a 'because we can' thing. CSS isn't really an issue and responsible use of JavaScript, without heavy frameworks, adds useful functionality without too much of a payload.
