I’m still alive. 👋 Today, at work, I discovered a nice little tool for WSL2. On my work laptop I need to use Cisco AnyConnect to connect to the corporate network. Unfortunately this blocks Internet access in Windows Subsystem for Linux VMs (at least in the Ubuntu VM, I tried to use for some Docker stuff). I tried a lot of different hacks and workarounds, but none worked. Until I found wsl-vpnkit. It just works. 😄

Although I no longer use Instagram, I still have an account there, and from time to time I like to see what people I know post there. To do that I always used the website in the browser. However, their website is not fast and has some bugs. Recently, I came across the alternative Instagram client “InstaGrabber”. While it sounds like a simple Instagram image downloader, it has a lot more functionality. It allows viewing your feed and stories of people you follow. To enable this, you can also login.

Medium is bringing back support for custom domains. And in general they seem to listen better. In addition to custom domains, Medium is reducing the amount of annoying pop-ups and banners and will also offer more customization options.

It’s impressive how Zach Leatherman built an archive of all his tweets on his personal website to take ownership of them. That way all his tweets will be preserved even if Twitter goes away one day.

I know, it’s a medium.com link again, but I’m still a Medium member until my membership expires next March. OneZero has some great articles though. If you don’t have a Medium membership, open the link in a private browser tab.
