I’m a bit skeptical about GitHub Copilot, but now that I’ve really tried it out for the first time, I’m amazed by its capabilities. Copilot doesn’t replace programming, but it does take a lot of the work out of it. What works well, for example, is the completion of comments in the code.

Jan-Lukas Else No more GitHub Copilot for me I was an avid user of GitHub Copilot during the technical preview phase. Apparently, as many as 1.2 million developers used Copilot. But now Copilot is out of beta and suddenly costs money. Sure, GitHub and Microsoft want to make money, but somehow I think it’s a shame that Copilot suddenly becomes paid and then costs so much money ($10 per month or $100 per year). - Orangii Though GitHub said `student pack` and `popular repository maintainer` could use copilot for free, it still seems expensive for individuals. Code that copilot generate sometime is not that good for that price. The good thing is that the code is all belong to who use it.
- Reorx I have the same feeling about this. I use Copilot to contribute to the open-source community, but I didn't use it a lot in my employed work. It's kinda sad to me that after all these years of continuously open sourcing, GitHub doesn't want to encourage me anymore.

- Latz Same here. It is a good helper for parenthesizes at the end of callback hell and for inserting code for standard tasks but it's not worth $10/month if you're not using it professionally.

I like being able to write a comment and for Copilot to complete my comment with real code. Copilot may not be ideal for many tasks but then again it is still a new tool. I am excited to see Copilot improve!
