Windows 11’s package manager

Windows 11 is even better than I expected and my first impression was. Next to running Linux GUI apps, there’s also winget included, the Windows Package Manager. winget allows installing and updating apps directly from the terminal. (I first blogged about it last year in May.)

A browser for my smartwatch

Until recently, I used the first generation Galaxy Watch with Tizen. For Tizen, Samsung had released a browser app for smartwatches. This allowed me to view links in notifications directly on the smartwatch when I didn’t want to reach for my phone.

Guess who installed Windows 11 and can now easily run Linux GUI apps without having to jump through all the hoops that were once necessary? Quite impressive… And my laptop (supposedly built in 2013) is not even officially supported for Windows 11, but still runs great!

My first Smart Home steps

I recently wrote about that my Raspberry Pi now has an SSD. With this, the Pi now runs quite fast and I also no longer have any concerns if I ever install something that also stores data. I even wrote in the last paragraph that I now want to get a bit involved with smart home.

An SSD for the Pi

So far I have been running my Raspberry Pi with an SD card. But since I don’t quite trust SD cards (I’ve heard that they wear out quickly when a lot is written to them), I’ve now equipped the Pi with an SSD.
