⚠️ This entry is already over one year old. It may no longer be up to date. Opinions may have changed.

Welcome to my monthly review of June 2020 and thus already the sixth monthly review on this blog. As always, I want to take the chance to review the last month and see what has happened to me.

First of all, let’s talk about what has been predominant in the past months, but is now increasingly fading into the background: Corona. Since the middle of the month the German Corona-Warn-App is finally out and after some initial confusion I installed it again 2 weeks ago. Fortunately it shows me green, I would only have a low risk and so far no risk exposure. 👍 I really hope that after the first wave we are really done with Corona until there is a vaccine next year. I’m worried it’s not, but hope dies last.

Something meta: Since the beginning of June I’m posting more emojis on my blog, I’ve included a library to make them look the same on all platforms and browsers. A little more color certainly won’t hurt. ☺️ And I’m also blogging more in German again. It’s easier for me to express myself in my mother tongue and blogging is more fun, even if I don’t know how many people I reach through the German posts. So if you understand German and find my content interesting, feel free to follow.

At the end of June my last semester of study with lectures has come to an end. That means I still had to finish some homework and give some presentations. I had the special luck, also because of the circumstances by Corona, not to have to write an exam this semester. In one module I would have preferred to do that, but all in all it went quite well. 😌 I also have to say that my university reacted quite well to the pandemic and I had mainly good experiences with online lectures.

The next step for my studies is a practical project and, based on this, the bachelor thesis. For me, this means that I will now work in the company again (in home office) and do research on a topic in a team environment. I really like the team I work in and I feel that I am in good hands. And the topic itself is also quite exciting. It’s about containerization and stuff like that. Even though I know a bit about it already, there is still a lot to learn and discover and I am a very curious person. 🤓

What else happened in June? I spent considerably more time with my girlfriend again. Not only did I introduce her to Firefox and a password manager, she also helped me a lot with moving inside the apartment into another room. Spending time with her and working in the apartment is also a good change from sitting in front of the computer. 😅

The next few months will certainly be very warm again. In June there were already some days where the temperature cracked the 30 degrees. I like it when it is pleasant (so I can put on short pants), but too hot is not so good. If it’s cold you can solve the problem by wearing more clothes, but if it’s too hot you’re sweating all the time and cooling down with some ice cream or bathing is only temporary. We will see how much the sun loves us this year and how much it makes us sizzle. 🌞😓

Until then, all the best to all readers!
