My June ‘22 in Review
⚠️ This entry is already over one year old. It may no longer be up to date. Opinions may have changed. And now June and thus half of the year is over, how fast time flies, blazing fast! Time for a little review.
At the beginning of the month and at the end of the month I visited my girlfriend twice in her university town (🇩🇪, 🇺🇸). It’s only about an hour and a half away by train, but somehow it was only recently that I even had the idea of just working from her shared room sometimes, when I’ve actually had the option of mobile working for two years now. With an additional mobile monitor (15.6 inches large) next to the laptop, it actually works quite well. Although we’ve been able to manage the long-distance relationship since the beginning of her studies, it’s much nicer to spend time together more often.
In the second week of June I actually had vacation, but except for a spontaneous day trip on a Sunday to Bremen, not really made vacation. The week consisted mainly of cleaning out the old apartment, including the basement, so that it can eventually be renovated and rented out. During the week my watch showed well over 10 thousand steps almost every day, it was quite exhausting. (🇩🇪, 🇩🇪)
Apart from that, I finally deleted my Cloudflare account after a long time, after transferring the domains from there to Porkbun and migrating the DNS hosting to deSEC. deSEC works great and even supports DynDNS. Now I don’t have to use a separate service for that either. (🇺🇸)
I also gave a few thoughts on my meal replacement powders that I currently use. (🇺🇸) After all, this month I had to go back to the office, once a week, for the first time since 2020. I have been there twice now. The air conditioning is nice, especially on warm days, and it was fun to see my colleagues live again, but I still prefer to work from home.
What else was going on?
I have reported on my smartphone story. (🇺🇸) I have been thinking about mobile and finally a solution with poor o2 reception and roaming in Switzerland. (🇩🇪, 🇩🇪) I now use Telegram Premium (🇺🇸), but no more GitHub Copilot. (🇺🇸) And I started a question and answer session and posted the answers. (🇺🇸)
In this spirit, stay healthy!
