Another month is over and Happy Halloween! 🎃

This was now the second month with my new job and I am still happy. Next week I have a training on AWS and in the rest of November and December two more trainings, so they invest in me immediately. 😄

Privately, there has also been a lot going on and has kept me neatly on my toes, but I just want to mention some things here:

In last month’s review, I mentioned that with my girlfriend, I’m looking for an apartment. The idea is to find a shared apartment in her university town and live there together until she’s done with her studies. I want to keep my current apartment, also in case I want to go to the office some day and also to not have to move all the furniture and stuff again.

This month the search was finally successful. The third viewing that actually took place was a hit. We had almost given up the search (for other reasons), but then came the confirmation. The apartment is well insulated, which is particularly important at the moment because of the gas prices, freshly renovated with a new kitchen and also located in a nice area, not far from a beautiful and large park.

While I’m still with my family for reasons at the moment, my girlfriend has already arranged the handover of keys and brought the first things into the apartment. The big move will take place in two to three weeks. Also things like re-registration, change of address and some purchases for furnishings will have to be done in November.

Since I’m employed in Lower Saxony, but am currently in Baden-Württemberg, I have a funny situation here: Today I have a day off due to Reformation Day and don’t have to work while the stores are open here, and tomorrow I have to work while everything is closed here due to All Saints’ Day.

And a quick thought on Twitter: I’m glad I left this platform long before the big exit. And I find it especially amusing to read blogposts from people who have only recently switched to the Fediverse and are now explaining how it works there. Well, but if the whole Twitter “mob” is there now, maybe I’ll be glad not to spend so much time there anymore, too. In the end, it’s just social media, just with a different code base.

So long, stay healthy!
