Sometimes I find it quite interesting to read through articles that I wrote three or four years ago, back then still on the platform Medium. Some time ago I deleted them on Medium and published them on my blog in a “Medium Archive”.

I will participate at least partially in the IndieWebCamp East. Probably only “in the forenoon”, because I am 6 hours ahead. It is my first IndieWebCamp, I am very excited!

Since migrating my blog to the new CMS, I carefully watch the BunnyCDN logs to see if there are some errors or 404s somewhere. It’s looking good so far. Two days ago, I found an issue with the routing of paths that included an encoded character (such as ü or ä), but I found an easy workaround for this. Another thing I noticed by looking at the logs is the number of requests to the feeds on this website.

This week’s HWC was nice as always with interesting topics! Especially the topic about sustainable websites was interesting. My VPS provider uses renewable energy and I also try to make my site use as less resources as possible, by using no custom fonts and writing minimal CSS and HTML. Images also get optimized and resized automatically on upload.

Bryan Sebesta shares his reasons for microblogging: I often run across things that I’d like to share but don’t deserve their own post. Outside of Twitter, how do I share it? A microblog creates a space for that.. It becomes […] “a way for me to put everything I do online that is visually small — anything small enough not to require scrolling: quotes, links, images, audio files — in one place, and a place on my own site.”

It was a nice evening yesterday with interesting discussions about different IndieWeb topics! I also used the writing hour to write some code for my custom CMS and it’s progressing well…

It was a nice HWC on Wednesday. (I already wanted to post this photo yesterday, but had to repair my Micropub media endpoint first…)

Today I will participate again at the HWC Europe/London (remotely, but this time with a webcam). I am looking forward to some nice discussions. Until then I’m going to program a little bit on my own CMS.

I’ll join my first IndieWeb event today! Quite excited and slightly confused by the British time zone (it’s -1 hour to my time), but I’m sure it will be fun talking to other IndieWeb people. 😌
