One advantage when developing your own CMS software is that you can add new features very easily. Although you should not push this too far that unnecessarily many features collect and afterwards the quality suffers, but some things are still good to have.

Google is introducing new policies to cause data in unused products to be deleted after extended periods of inactivity. For example, anyone who has uploaded photos to Google Photos but does not use Google Photos for two years will have their photos automatically deleted.

One keeps hearing about some cryptocurrency projects and how people got rich with Bitcoin. But somehow I don’t understand the whole purpose behind it and I’m beginning to suspect that it’s just a pyramid scheme.

For the last few days I have been using my new TWS earbuds, the Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro, whenever possible. Such wireless in-ear headphones are sometimes actually a very pleasant change from the over-ear headphones that I have connected to my computer by cable so that I don’t always have to charge them.

It’s kind of funny how all those “.clubs” pop up, featuring lightweight sites: 1mb.club, 250kb.club, 520kb.club.

Since moving my blog to my new CMS, I don’t count visits to this website anymore. Previously I used my own view counter named KISSS or kis3. It served me quite well. But to be honest, I don’t even miss the numbers, now that I can’t see them anymore.

Did you know that there are official example domains that can be used in documentation? example.com, example.net and example.org are all example domains of the IANA, the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority, which are explicitly intended for use in documentation.1 In documentations or even in sample code I often stumbled over examples where no official sample domain was used, but one that can actually be registered. It is not recommended to use such a domain, because you can’t make sure that it will be registered once and maybe unintentionally data will end up with strangers.

Since migrating my blog to the new CMS, I carefully watch the BunnyCDN logs to see if there are some errors or 404s somewhere. It’s looking good so far. Two days ago, I found an issue with the routing of paths that included an encoded character (such as ü or ä), but I found an easy workaround for this. Another thing I noticed by looking at the logs is the number of requests to the feeds on this website.
