GitHub has a new web-based editor based on Visual Studio Code. For me, this fulfills one use case in particular: if you want to browse code to see how certain things were implemented in other projects, this editor now allows you to easily jump to references. This way you don’t have to tediously open many tabs and manually search for files. And it is probably also much easier to look at pull requests this way.

This problem is finally solved. The solution: Make the webmention endpoint URL in the HTML head absolute. Now I will finally get mentions from micro.blog again!

Tor support for this blog

I just spent a few hours trying to setup Tor for this blog. You can now access this website using a hidden service at http://dvvbogg3cytomyhjf6jfzuaj4vuhjfvttn3wqdy25hpzgykstk5hjnqd.onion/. I don’t want to guarantee that I won’t shut down Tor support again, but it was interesting to set everything up and I learned a lot.
